Self Driven & Self Taught Game Development
I will be utilising my time during externship to further the development of a side project I started following the conclusion of the Virtual Reality World project at High Tech High International, the catalyst that sparked my passion for software development. The project in question is a three dimensional tower defense game. At the start of externship I had a very basic map setup, with rudimentary enemy AI and four different tower types: Basic, rocket, mortar, and mine layers. I fleshed out the game with more content, better graphics, and hitting "baseline," or a fully playable, if not feature complete, state.
Unity Engine
Using the Unity game development engine, a professional framework that has been used by hundreds of indie developer teams to create successful games on consoles, mobile devices, and personal computers.
C# Object Oriented Programming
Utilising Microsoft Visual Studio, an IDE (integrated development environment), to program. C# is an enterprise level programming language that utilises classes to compartmentalise code.
Qualcomm
Qualcomm has graciously offered me their space and resources in order to help me with my independent project over the course of the Externship. I extend my thanks to their support.
